October 1, 1999 (Redmond, OR) Dave Morss and the Lancair-Neico Aviation sponsored Lancair IV, N409L or #99, took the Gold again at the 1999 Reno Air Races in the Sport Class.

N409L qualified at 335 m.p.h. and won the Gold Race at 319 m.p.h.. Continental built a special TSIO-550 for the race. The engine was balanced, blueprinted and fit with oversized turbos for added boost. Hartzell Propeller built a special 3 blade prop designed to turn more RPM for the race. The whole combination proved to be awesome. Much thanks goes to everyone who helped win this prestigious race!
